More than 13 million Americans have incontinence, women are twice as likely to have it as men.
4 types of urinary incontinence:
  • Stress - is the leak that happens when you cough, laugh, sneeze, any motion that stresses the bladder.
  • Urge-over active - urge to go with an involuntary loss of urine
  • Mixed Incontinence - Stress and urge are mixed [most women have both types]
  • Overflow - If you can not empty your bladder every time you experience a frequent or constant dribbling of urine.


  • Stock up on a good quality pad that has powder that turns to gel.
  • Invest in odor preventers, sprays – capsules
  • Try a tampon
  • Avoid excess caffeine or water
  • Wear dark–colored pants or skirts
  • Practice Kegels - You contract the muscles that you used to stop the flow of urine. Hold the contraction for three seconds and relax. Do this 8 to 10 times three times a week
